LET US TELL YOU A STORY ABOUT US

THE YEAR IS 2013, and the historical town of Sharpeville is faced with a dilemma, what are they going to do after the foreigners leave and close their shops? but the community is sure of one thing, they must go, and evictions started happening.  on the other side of town, two high school best friends(Moeketsi Eldridge Mabena)(David Loggenberg) see an opportunity in this. As the evictions happen there is a template of a running business left open for the taking, with one bringing in business running skills and the other his charisma and the space, they open the shop.  calling in favours for money to buy stock, and one taking his father’s car to use to go buy stock. this was a bold move. no youth had ever done such a thing, the eyes where looking and tounges speaking. this was uncharted waters for them.

A few months pass by, countless hours are spent opening at 4:30 AM and closing at 10:30 PM daily. with the rapid growth, the boys were faced with many challenges, how to manage stock, money, bills, and the sudden pressure that came with the business, and they were still young, falling into temptations and not fully understanding the road ahead. one day they woke up and they had crazy debts, and the pressure was too much, so they sought help.

Comes in the man, the legend Saebata (Papi) Mokhema. he is a descendent of a retail King, and he needed a new venture. the connection was instant. from day one the fear of expansion was broken from the boys’ minds, they had a captain to sail through the retail seas.

For the next month the shop had everything needed to get ready to expand, new fridges, POS system, full retail management. but there was a big issue. One of the boys was going overseas to pursue his dancing career and took flight. while the other held on for a few years and eventually pursued his Digital Marketing Company Matrix Media. Which left one person as the Director of the brand.  The relationship continues between the Founding parties and the business is still growing. the name of the business changed from “Corner House Shop” to “Kasie Corner”, and Matrix Media still acts as the marketing department of Kasie Corner.
